Diabetic eye disease refers to a group of eye problems that people with diabetes may have as a complication of the disease. All of these diseases can cause vision loss or even blindness. The prevalence of diabetic retinopathy is increasing day by day. All diabetic patients require regular eye examinations to diagnose & treat diabetic retinopathy.


The diabetic retinopathy clinic is a part of the vitreo retinal clinic. It has the following facilities to diagnose & manage diabetic retinopathy.

 

 


Indirect ophthalmoscope - to examine the retina
Slit Lamp biomicroscope with special lenses – to examine the central retina.
Carl Zeiss digitized angiography system for doing Fundus fluorescein angiography.
Iridex red & green lasers – for laser treatment of diabetic retinopathy.
Cryotherapy – for ablation of the peripheral diabetic retina.
Accurus vitrectomy machine – to surgically manage complicated diabetic retinopathy cases.
